So, I recently got this amazingly SHORT hair cut and discovered something... I can't wear my hair in a ponytail anymore. So I needed a headband, or a hat or SOMETHING to keep my hair decent-ish. And, well, leaving it down all the time is definitely going to get boring. So, here's a scrap project that takes just about an hour to make... and that was with me being distracted... yay for babysitting.....
Anyways, so enjoy this simple headband

Materials:
Any scrap yarn really, medium weight is best
Size J/10 (6.00 mm) Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle

Pattern (make two)
Ch 100, fasten off, mark 20th ch from each end

Take one piece, attach yarn at one marker, remove marker.
Row: *Ch 5, sc in 3rd ch from hook* Repeat *-* to next marker. Fasten off and remove second marker.

Finish:
Cut off a little more than a yard of yarn, either same or complimentary color.
Thread yarn needle
Sew pieces together however you wish. Fasten off.

Variations:
--MULTICOLOR
All you have  to do is keep a couple different balls of yarn handy and with each Ch 5 change the color. It's really simple and it gives you a very colorful headband. Also good for using up random pieces of yarn lying about.
--BELT
Yes, you can turn this into a belt. Just chain between 126 and 200, just keep it an even number and follor the rest of the pattern. Another idea is to measure the chains against your own waist and then add another 40 chains to leave room for ties. I'll post a picture of that soon enough.
